FAQs
Yes. Under the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988, every vehicle on a public road must have at least third-party liability insurance. Driving without it can attract fines and other penalties.
Insured Declared Value (IDV) is the current market value of your vehicle as agreed in the policy. It is the maximum the insurer pays for total loss or theft. A lower IDV reduces premium but also reduces what you get in a big claim, so we help you pick the right figure.
NCB is a discount on the own-damage premium for every claim-free year, typically rising from 20% to 50% over five years. It belongs to you, not the vehicle, so you can carry it to a new insurer or a new vehicle with an NCB certificate or your previous policy.
Yes. Third-party cover can be bought immediately. For own-damage cover after a break, the insurer may require a vehicle inspection, and NCB is usually lost if the break exceeds 90 days. Don't drive without valid insurance, so call us right away.
It's most valuable for vehicles up to about 5 years old, where parts are expensive and depreciation deductions can be large. We'll compare the extra premium against likely claim savings for your vehicle.
Yes. We arrange cover for goods and passenger carrying vehicles, tractors, and other special vehicles, including fleet policies for businesses.
